When I imagined this room it was creamy and bright, peppered with antiques I found all over God's green earth. I felt at home, calm and settled. After a few years of living there, I wanted something moody, with depth. The simplest, most impactful and least expensive way to transform a space is through your paint color. Our ceiling height is just under 8'. A little trick you can use, is to paint the walls and ceilings the same color, as it pulls your eyes upward and makes the room look larger. When tacklilng a small room with multiple doors and windows, you can sneakily hide them, by painting them the same color as your walls (albeit in a different sheen). Add some foliage from your yard and voila, you are transported to a completely different feeling. I found these hand painted plates at a local thrift store for .99 cents, each, the brass, queen bed frame and corner cupboard on Marketplace, a dresser at a yard sale and a brass stemware holder in our barn to carry this quilt I got at an antique quilt museum sale. Anything is possible.....
