Uma's light and airy room at the farm was a project near and dear to my heart. She wanted to "feel loved", surrounded by friends. We worked together to make it happen.
This cultured farm girl has never met an animal she doesn't like, and wanted her room to look like what she termed as "a fancy zoo". This special room needed to be magical while housing her bed, a large cupboard to hold this crafter's art supplies and books, a craft table with a view (as requested), and an animal holder....I found these paper mache relief maps that were from the late 1800's and spent a week, restoring and cleaning them before they found their way onto her walls. This space is filled with family heirlooms, mixed with a colorful wool rug and cotton bedding with snuggly blankets. It is a warm, inviting space, fit for a animal whisperer.
She sits for hours at her desk and looks out the windows as she paints and makes origami. Her floor has seen a lot of sleepovers with friends who visit us and our animals on Her Wildwood Farm.
